Topography of Kuwait

Kuwait is and OPEC Nation (that means lots of oil) but it won't last forever. Kuwait needs a sustainable energy plan for the future. Especially because it has very little water and quickly growing urbanized population it needs to feed. Because Kuwait has grown in wealth in the last 40 years, the population has become increasing affluent and their desire for better quality of life increases the requirements of energy. Luckily, the population is also a well educated and the kuwait has a high GDP of USD $62,000.

Kuwait should look into using solar energy because of its geographical location. And it can afford the high infrastructure costs because of its high GDP.

Its geographical location means high insolation, which translates into slightly more consistent energy production and higher energy production. It is easier to make the transition as well because of the relative affordability due to the huge GDP value.

Solar energy is a viable and efficient choice of energy due to the high insolation in Kuwait's desert climate.

I suggest Kuwait to use Solar power to produce energy, Because Solar power could provide infinite renewable energy and the country is wealth enough to invest on manufacture solar panels.

Although Kuwait is a OPEC country that contain a lot of fossil fuel. But as fossil fuel could ran out in the future.therefore the country need a alternative ways to produce the electricity

I agree with Hoi Man, Kuwait should look into solar energy based on its location and climate, they also have enough money to afford it.

Although it is an OPEC nation, however oil is not a renewable energy source and it cannot be sustainable. Therefore, it is best to use solar energy as a new energy source

Solar Energy is a feasible idea that can be carried out as a source of renewable energy. This way Kuwait can have wider range of energy sources.

Solar energy is better for Kuwait due to the city's high temperature and also Kuwait's wealth could afford the solar panels because solar panels are not CHEAP!!

A 5 kW system would cost around $25,000-$35,000 so its really costly

Kuwait could also look into wind energy by utilising its location merits near the shore. This means that wind speed will be constant and sufficient to be used as an alternative source of energy.

This could also potentially be implemented by combining both wind and solar energy. Undoubtedly, strong insolation in Kuwait is a natural merit that should be recognised, yet for the country to solely rely on solar energy would be too cost ineffective. Thus perhaps a combination would be ideal.

Solar power would be the most optimal option as it could provide infinite engery supply. Some might argue that the implementation of solar panels is extremely costly, however since Kuwait has a high GDP of USD $62,000 and people are generally well-educated, people should be more willing to purchase solar panels as they would be aware of the environment.

Solar power might be the best possible option. First of all, Kuwait is near the desert, which it provides tons of sunlights for energy. Kuwait should use this geographical advantage wisely and creating a sustainable energy source.

Solar and Geothermal energy can be some of the reliable sources, regarding to their geographical location, plenty of sunlight and geothermal would provide a great amount of energy for that area.

On the other hand, Kuwait should continue using coal and oil energy supply for now, until they can really develop the technology of using solar and geothermal energy. As these energy supplies take a considerable amount of area.

Kuwait should consider solar energy as it is the most ideal and effective option for them. With solar panels built, they can then benefit from the weather and collect energy.

Compared to solar energy, burning oil does incredible damage to the environment. Not only it will run out soon, it's extremely harmful to the environment.

A problem in Kuwait is politicians and country planners tend to merely plan out their generation's energy usage and "leave the problems for the next generation". This means that Kuwait should no longer rely completely on oil since there is only a limited supply and greenhouse gas emissions are detrimental towards the atmospheric environment. Kuwait should instead use profit from selling oil to the development of solar panels. Although relatively expensive, it is largely effective if utilised in Kuwait due to Kuwait only having a dry season and wet season, meaning that sunrise would remain relatively early for the whole year, translating into a lot of energy generated. Other alternatives such as tidal, wave and wind are not cost effective as such energy sources used in Kuwait would not be as effective as Solar. Kuwait also doesn't have the research and development for nuclear power.

Kuwait should utilize their resources and profits from being an OPEC country, investing in renewable energy sources such as solar energy, which would be highly affordable by their population, but also the placements of wind turbines along their coasts, which would provide a sufficient flow of energy, as their country is located at shorelines

Furthermore, the use of solar energy would also be appropriate as Kuwait is dry, which means that they would have tons of sunshine which could be converted into solar energy.

i suggestion combine of different renewable energy, such as solar energy, wind energy. the reason why I suggest these two renewable energy is because Kuwait is location in the middle of a desert, and the area of the desert is very big.Kuwait is very wealthy,so I suggest to use some of the money to make solar power panel and wind turbine.first put the solar panel ether in the desert most sunniest place or city to collect solar power energy, second build very strong wind resist wind turbine and put it to the most windiest place in the desert, which it will collect wind energy very quickly, the reason why need to be strong wind resist is because desert is very well known for strong wind and sandstorm, and we can use that strong wind to generate power and also on the safe side protect the turbine.after all of this collect the energy back to the city and use it.

Nuclear energy is recommended. Given that the place has one of the highest GDP out of all countries and they demand a high quality of living, it is assumed that the demand of energy is very high also. Nuclear energy is recommended because a very small amount of radioactive materials produces a great amount of energy, which may satisfy the high demands in energy supply due to the desire of a better quality of living. Although nuclear waste is expensive to be treated properly, the financial cost may not be a limitation or a threat given high GDP of USD $62,000.

A mix of Nuclear and natural gas is recommended. As it is a place with a lot of oil, therefore favours natural gas.

Kuwait should invest in nuclear energy mainly due to the fact that Kuwait has a very limited size compared to other countries. A nuclear plant should be considered as it can produce a large amount of electricity in a given area.

Kuwait is a country located in North of Africa. Solar Power should definitely be considered due to its geographical location, allowing to the access to huge quantity of sunlight as it is near the equator and within the proximity of one of the largest deserts in the world. Except that, the money in which required to install the equipments will not be a problem for Kuwait; indicated by the GDP.

Kuwait should remain as an oil exporter, while using the revenue gained from oil exporting to reinvest in renewable energies. The climate in Kuwait is hot and sunny, which is suitable for setting up solar panels. The windy climate in Kuwait also makes wind power a viable option for renewable energy, rather than burning fossil fuel and contribute to increasing the effects of global warming.

In the future, I believe that Kuwait should focus on developing solar energy and nuclear energy as two of their potential dominant energy sources. Kuwait received a lot of benefits by being an OPEC nation, especially the income from its oil resources. As oil is a non-renewable energy and could not last forever, Kuwait should effectively utilize the money they gained from their oil industry onto developing the aforementioned new energy sources. Given that the population is well educated, they could replace the fossil fuels with nuclear energy and place more emphasis on establishing safety measures to ensure it is safe. In addition, solar energy has a lot of potential in Kuwait, considering that Kuwait is generally a hot and dry place and has a lot of land available to build solar panels. There is enough sunlight in Kuwait for the solar panels to run sufficiently.
